Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
Given how unsettled our forwardline is, our versatility mantra and the new 6-in rules at centre bounces, the race for our 2019 goalkicking award seems wide open. So many players actually have legitimate claims to the title.
Gowers - the reigning champion, but will he spend more time up the ground in 2019?
Schache - Looms as our most important forward but set to spend more time as that link player due to his tank & workrate
Boyd - set to spend more time as a forward in 2019.
Dickson - very good forward if fit. Very big IF.
Lloyd - Gowers came from the clouds last year, could Lloyd do it this year?
Caverra - Ditto as per Lloyd. mature ager and will be aiming for games.
Greene - Statistically a very effective forward, albeit from a small sample size
Bont - Why not, he is not mortal anyway
Dale - the forgotten man. Can he bounce back?
Who takes out the award? We're not even sure how we set up this year.

Re: Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
It would be great to have 6 or 7 players kick over 20 goals.
I will go with Lloyd kicking 37 goals.

Re: Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
Tom Boyd, 40 goals.
If we play English & Trengove as well. With a rucking split something like 55% English, 30% JT, 15% Boyd. With Schache running up and back as a Nick Riewoldt style CHF. Giving room for Boyd and JT if both are up forward, or JT can drop back in the hole to help out our defenders. Let's play all these guys in the best positions/roles and see what happens.

Re: Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
Bloody good question Mof. The usual suspects have changed with the introduction of Gowers and Schasche last year and Lloyd this year.
I will go with Tom Boyd with 77 goals but wouldn't be suprised if Josh Schasche got off the leash a few times and kicked bags of 6, 7, 8 or even 9 or 10 goals, so give Josh 30 or 40 as well. I think Lloyd will give more away and create more opportunitys gfor others to kick goals than he will kick goals himself.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

77 goals would win the Coleman most years, you can write your own ticket on Tom taking it out and you will be the only person on earth not surprised if Schache kicks 10 in a game.
Love your optimism, can I have some of what you're having?

Re: Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
I think 30odd will probably win it so there's probably 4 or 5 who might do that.
I'll say Schache will 32

Going to deviate here and say the Bont's a very healthy candidate.
More midfield help, the fact we score by committee and our attack's a constant work in progress where we'll be tempted to default to him a lot as needed, and just that he's well, the Bont. It's also one of the few personal accolades he's yet to collect.
Bet against him, I dare you.

Mate, you can have as much as you can take! It's all free.

I think it will be an even spread and I am going with Cavarra to get 32. He loves a goal and playing a better of standard of footy will suit his game.

Beasley 105
Bamblett 51
McPherson 39
Edmond 38
Royal 37
Buhagier 36
If Daniels 17:17 or Sewell 14:21 had of kicked straight they might have joined them.
Even Hardie from a back pocket 13:18. If Honey had of kicked that from a forward pocket he would probably still be on the list!

Re: Who wins our goalkicking award in 2019?
Greene if he marks it closer to goal, not 50m out on the boundary
Dickson if he stays fit
Boyd if he plays forward
Lots of if's
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Would love to see Cavarra kick 20+, shache 30. I agree just over 30 should tip the scales
