I want JJ in the side but we do have some options to cover.

So you only have Ed playing half the season up forward?

Even with the injury to JJ we have Duryea, Crozier and Suckling then maybe Williams, Lipinski, Dale, Daniel, Lynch and even Bailey Smith.

If we have to cop and injury then the mid or smaller defensive players is where we are particularly solid with our depth.

I certainly hope it’s not that long, that would have him out for over 10 weeks!

I heard it was a 7 weeks injury and he's likely to need to a couple of weeks after that. 10 weeks could easily be around the mark

A couple of weeks for what? Or do you mean a couple of weeks in the VFL?

It could easily be a 7 to 10 week injury and yes he might need a game at Footscray

Very frustrating JJ will be out for a bit. Important player. It gives others the opportunity to step up in his role.

Agreed Easty, at least it's an injury to a position that we have a few options.

I think JJ was primed for a good return to form and this will be a set back.

Just noticed the injury news re: JJ. That's some tough luck for him. He can be a very important player for us. I hope it ends up a catalyst for someone else to use their pace to run the footy through the lines and kick long into the forward line.

Would much prefer said person kicks the ball with precision rather than just long.

Why though? Bomb it long into the forward line and you might win a Norm Smith.

    Re: Injury List - 2019

Looks like we are getting a head start on the injuries this year.

    Hamstring injury to sideline Jong

Western Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong is expected to miss at least the next two months of football after suffering a hamstring injury at training yesterday.

Jong was removed from the Club’s match simulation session at VU Whitten Oval, with scans later revealing a high-grade hamstring tear.

The timeline for his playing return will become clearer over the coming weeks, however at this stage the Club anticipates he will return in approximately 8-10 weeks.

First year defender Buku Khamis is also set for a stint on the sidelines after he injured his knee in yesterday’s session.

Khamis strained his posterior cruciate ligament in a marking contest, and is expected to return to playing in 6-8 weeks.

Geez. Injuries are starting to add up before the season kicks off. Lin just can't take a trick.

What are we up to now? 5?, 6 long term?
