Re: World Cup Squad - 2019

Completely agree Fredi, that's a really good summation.

I think it's symptomatic of how we've gone about the last four years. We're now really paying for a lack of innovation and development.

The world cup cycle works in a way that gives you an opportunity to develop and bed down a side over those four years. England are a great example, this is a completely different side to what they brought out for the 2015 World Cup. They've developed players and a brand and they're now the best in the world.

This Australian side has largely been cobbled together in the last 8 months and will probably make a semi largely because of how weak the field is.

Re: World Cup Squad - 2019

To really demonstrate the transformation (or lack of) in these England and Australian sides, these were the teams they put out when they played in the first game of the 2015 World Cup.

    Aus:
    Warner
    Finch
    Watson
    Smith
    Bailey
    Maxwell
    M Marsh
    Haddin
    Johnson
    Starc
    Hazlewood

    England lined up:
    Ali
    Bell
    Ballance
    Root
    Morgan
    Taylor
    Buttler
    Woakes
    Broad
    Finn
    Anderson

    Huge win for Bangladesh overnight.

It's great to see Shakib al-Hasan having a great tournament. He's been their talisman for a long time and has become a very mature cricketer.

Great chase down and with balls to spare.

He also became the fastest man in ODI history to reach 6,000 runs and 250 wickets - and only 4th ever.

One Of My fave cricketers in the world. Love watching him go about his business. Classy player with some X factor. Great to see them batting him at 3 where he has time to judge an innings, instead of #5 where he’d end up batting with the tail.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Solid start, going at 5.5 per over. Both batsmen look comfortable. Hoping its not rain interrupted

Warner 166, Usi 89 and Finch 53. Maxwell was looking dangerous with 32 off 10, and then a silly runout

Bangers are batting well and are ahead of where we were after 25 overs. Just a bit more work for us is required
