Very little if guess. They're an absolute mess.

Not any concern of ours but interesting to see 31 year old Todd Goldstein signed a 3 year contract with North. Long deal for a man of that age.

Should we be chasing Ryder to help with our indigenous programme?

That is just staggering! Also Geelong offered him 4 years with more money

Not if he doesn't suit us as a player (I don't think he does). We can't just recruit an indigenous player for the sake of it if it doesn't fit in with our broader list management strategy.

He would cost too much in salary and I can't see him being interested in playing in the VFL most of the year. Would take a complete change in Bevo's philosophy to play him in the same team as English.
If we want a backup ruckman it would need to be someone lower profile. Zac Smith would make some sense.

Port get more than enough points to guarantee them Mead & Burgoyne. We get a mid second rounder that secures Bruce & Keath and some extra points for next year. Essentially (say pick 27 is for Bruce) it costs us two third rounders.
That's how I'd like to see us manoeuvre the group of thirds. Pick 12 (keep or trade), Bruce & Keath and then whatever else the trade period throws up (& more 2020 points, GCS 2nd, 3rd & 4th for our 2020 first rounder gives us a big points win).
Keath and Bruce sounds like we are now recruiting players from the Rolling Stones.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Are we prepared to play him in front of English? If not I think he is still too good to be a back-up to Tim
Years back Ryder was a versatile playing capable of playing anywhere. I'd be confident in saying that's probably not the case now
Ryder will fit in well at Saints and allow Marshall to play in the forward line which then allows the Saints to move Bruce on
As a replacement for Brett Goodes though he could be well worth considering

Apparently on $350,000-$400,000. At that price what does he do as a midfielder that we don't have is the question?

Re: Proactive Poaching
Should we join the race for Papley? Certainly an upgrade on AMT & Martin for a small forward. Costly though. You can see a mile off that Dodoro will demand two first rounders for Daniher (and return their pick 29). Carlton may be tied up for some time finding a pick for GCS. Plus with Betts & Martin (looking at Gray too), is Carlton as committed as they once were to now tying up $1.5m in small forwards.
That gives Sydney 4 & 12 for Daniher & 29. The pick we use on Josh Bruce goes to Sydney in return for Saints getting Zak Jones.
We have our pick 12 and a spare contract for $700,000 X 5 years now Martin wants elsewhere.

Should we make an offer to Daniher? Could he fit in the team with Schache?
