Re: Proactive Poaching
I wonder if that means with that salary locked in now that they're out of the race for Jack Martin?

The general consensus seems to be that they would need to trade out a big name to get Martin (both for salary cap room and a draft pick to trade).
Who that could be is open to conjecture; Daniher (follow in his old mans footsteps to Sydney?), or one of Hooker or Hurley as it appears they will re-sign Francis.

Alrighty then!
Rejected offers/interest: Tippa, Langdon & maybe Moore (Isaac Smoth but that rumour out in the media)
Unlikely to accept based on media: Tomlinson
Not yet decided: Keath, Martin & Bruce

Good. At least it's done.
Our focus can turn to Martin who I believe has a higher potential ceiling than Tippa.

Yeah Tippa at 600k did worry me a little. That said I do want to see us actually use the money in our cap for once.

Those spongy floors must really be appealing! We need to get some installed asap.

All about a key defender for mine, It's the area we have the biggest deficiency in.
It's just a feel, but I think Keath will be at the Bulldogs next year.
It makes sense for both parties, he has some currency, the crows defence is solid indeed with Talia, Kelly and Doedee and they are going for a refresh, if we throw in a second rounder the deal will get done.

All aboard the Keath train.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Agreed. If we only pull off one trade this is the one I would prioritise.
It also helps that we aren't hearing of much competition from other clubs for his signature. The Melbourne link seems to have gone quiet, not that it made much sense as a key defender is the last thing they need.

We are definitely targeting some indigenous players.

Re: Proactive Poaching
My fingers and toes are crossed for Martin. Maybe it's the romantic in me. I was certain he would be a bulldog as he came through the system.
Now's our chance, we are targeting indigenous talent and I think it would also be a wise move to have at least one experienced indigenous player on the list before bringing in a bunch of kids, and before J.U.H. lands on our doorstep.

Not sure who.
PG was asked this morning if we would have Betts, and he said he would be a good ambassador for the clubs indigenous programme.
Everything I have heard about trading from the club, has been about the indigenous programme and the ambition to grow it.

Nope, not now.
Essendon fans I know are worried they can't even fit an inside mid in.
Laverde's on the table but he'd be on a low contract and would have little trade value.
