I thought Cordy did well chopping in the ruck and agree it was a clear plan re Lynch. Trengove monstered him with a huge tackle at the end. Plenty of pride in that performance by the big brick.

Trengove had Lynch rattled by the end of the game. He was whining to the umpires at every chance. Throwing his arms in the air constantly. It was a good old fashioned bath.

Loved Trengove's game. He has genuine aggression which is something we lack as a side.

I love that Naughton had this game after getting a smashing from Hamling. It could have been easy for him to drop his bundle, whinge that he’s not a forward and just accept another quiet day at the office as proof he’s being played out of his preferred position. But he went to work, got up the ground early for a leading mark and it was off to the races.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

    Yes the youngest .

Aaron Naughton is the youngest player & first teenager to take nine contested marks in a match since that stat was taken. Source: AFL Tables

He dropped some easy marks against Hamling, plus Hamling held on to him the whole match. He neeeds to learn how to deal with those sort of players.

Bevo even mentioned it in the presser last week, but Lyon denied it.

I don't think Jones beat him, we just didnt get the ball to him against Carlton.

I think English is getting better every game , even though he got done in the ruck against carlton I thought it was his break out game around the ground.
He was very good last night, slowly creeping up as an around the ground ruck who is very good below his knees, also starting to find position and get more marks.

Great to hear Boyd slotting it from 45 out. Warms the heart.

Currently overseas and out and about when the game was on. Avoided all wi-fi connection until I got back from the day out and turned on watch AFL to see the replay without any knowledge of the result.

It was magnificent. Bont and Naughton outstanding, but a lot of very good contributions.
