Thanks to Tom for his service. Had people actively hoping for his demise and for that brief moment he made them all look very foolish. His contribution to the club in a short time was as much as you could have asked for. Always has seemed like, more than anything, a great person. Sometimes that doesn't gel well with being a great footballer. I wish him all the best and hope this decision is the best for his future and allows him to find happiness in other parts of life.
Even some of the calls on SEN so far have been appalling.
One peanut rang up to say that Tom Boyd retired because he must have released the AFL rigged the 2016 grand final and gave the dogs all the free kicks....and Andy Maher cut him off and gave him a spray. But this is the sort of nonsense that is out there.

That's certainly a consideration. Two picks now. We have to pick up Gardner now, surely.

I wonder if Young playing ruck was an indication that Gia & Bevo knew weeks in advance.

I would love someone to give Leigh Matthews a spray.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Some of our players didn't help either with Stringer bullying him, Dahl calling him the million dollar man when he walked into the rooms. No respect for those blokes.

Think that is dangerous territory BAD. We don't really know what happened inside the club and relationships between the players. All hearsay and rumour.

Nope I got that direct from Tristan Tweedie. It was very real.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Well at least the Club dealt with the aforementioned provocateurs by trading them out.

Hope Boyd gets well, with the Club still supporting him. (We want players of the Club to be able to leave in a better position in life to when they joined). Do whats right for you.

If it means he finds his way back into footy in due course (with another club) so be it.

Like a few others said , shocked but not surprised.
The body also might play a part here as he’s a huge bloke .
We got him to win us a flag and he delivered in spades .
The media showed their colours where he should have won the Norm Smith .

    great Tweet this one:

    Jarrad Grant‏

Tom Boyd didn’t pick himself at pick 1, he didn’t offer himself over 1 million a year. He did contribute largely to something every dogs fan is forever grateful for.
