On Tom, I agree with a lot of the sentiment on here. Shocked but....... kind of not shocked.

The salary cap relief for us I imagine will be a fairly significant factor as far as list building goes.

We'll never get to see the best of Tom, or maybe we DID see the best of him that glorious day.
The poor guy must have suffered mentally and physically over the years. To walk away at 23 actually shows a lot of inner strength to me.
I, for one, TOTALLY believe he was BOG for us in the flag.

I wish him all the best, and in an ideal world he would make a comeback, and play in another dog's flag.
    AND win the Norm Smith.
But I know that's just the crazy yabbering of a damned old fool.

    Good luck out there Tom

I wish he hadn't done this and went on to enjoy a long, stellar career...but this does add to the enigma.

Will be saying 'how about Tom Boyd?' in 20 - 30 years.

    Thanks Tom, be well.

Thinking the same thing. It has happened before. Good luck to Tom. Get you mind right son. Tom was instrumental in us winning the 2016 flag. Will never forget his heroics.

I bet that is one of the reasons why both are not with us. Don't need that rubbish talk at our Club.

    Re: Tom Boyd Retires

Wow, totally shocked at this. Tom will always be a premiership player (and should’ve been a norm smith medalist). He reached the top of the mountain and now want to live his life. I understand this.

I wish Tom all the best in his future endeavours. I hope he finds happiness in whatever comes next for him.

    Thank you Tom.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Just wow, good on you Tom, i hope one day you look back and know that you gave it your all, now concentrate on the most important person in your world, yourself.

Reminds me a lot of how Nathan Ablett left the game.

I eagerly await this years trade period, its game on like donkey kong.

My friends daughter is being interviewed by Easton wood as I type ( plays for Sporswood ) and the media circus is in full swing here at Whitten Oval.
Just what Tom was trying to avoid and they still act like bees around honey.
    Bring back the biff
