Our loss of Libba really hurt us and clearly our coaching team wanted us to fight it out with a particular gear all night without responding too heavily to what was happening against us.

We won the game, put the whips and chains away and enjoy it.
The other thing teams are good at is defending all over the ground. At times it was difficult for us to get through their defence, especially in the third qurter when they really pressed forward and locked the ball in.

I might be wrong but I think it is the second week in a row that the opposition CHF has kicked a personal best. Maybe the selection committee should think about that.

Libba and the Bont two teaming at the stoppages were enormous for us in the first quarter. This came to a sudden halt when Libba went off. Tom is so important to our contested game.

On the plus side, we showed an ability to pinpoint leading forwards on a number off occasions.

We also demonstrated our resilience coming back after Carlton hit the lead, a truly positive step.

We should promote that All Australian CHB from the VFL.

That was a win that somehow felt like a loss.

Thank goodness. I am just relieved.

Go Dogs! But that last 10 minutes was very bad.

Coughed up a decent lead twice. That was a real concern.

A little patch just towards the end of the 3rd saved the game for us. They missed a few and we settled with a couple to undo what could've been a disastrous quarter. That was pleasing, to some degree. I thought we'd turn our toes up.

Last quarter we looked comfortable and put the cue in the rack, far too early it seems. We aren't good enough to do that, though being a man down meant they would always have a chance to come at us late.

Curnow is a gun, but you wish Naughty was adjudicated to the same standard as he and Ben Brown. Gifted half his bag. Our bloke gets scragged, nothing, makes terrific defensive efforts, no reward.

Carlton are a disgrace. Glad to see their pissant hearts break.

Curnow certainly got a good deal from the umpires tonight.

well, i did say dogs by a goal iirc. The right ending. If we had won by a big margin, May have papered over the cracks.

Was great to be back at the footy tonight cheering on the Dogs after 2 weeks at home with the bye last week and us in Perth the week before that. Home game next week so back in my reserved seat amongst the regulars.
