I hope everyone is doing their stretches and limbering up for a huge night of rooting. Tonight we are all temporary WC fans (even those of you in WA )
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

I’m also more anxious for this game than ours! Go eagles!

    Can’t believe I said that

Not often you look at the team selections for another game and grumble about the ins & outs. 2020 continues to deliver the weirdness.

Yep. And checking the weather forecast. A lot is going in the saints favour but at least Hurn and Natanui are back for the eagles.

We have had a big week with the round 16 results going our way.

Tonight a new round, but the selected West Coast side looks seriously undermanned in the middle.

We just need to beat Hawthorn and only 2 goals better than GWS over Melbourne and we take their spot, although a big big win would really help.

GWS Melbourne draw would be an ideal result.

Can't see the Suns knocking over Collingwood.

In my Footy Tipping I picked West Coast, but tempted to change. Melbourne may surprise as GWS have not been impressive one little bit.

Re: The unofficial 2019 "Where is T&T?" who to root for thread

    The five remaining roots.

Realistically, the following five games are our most important roots assuming we win our last two games. We essentially need only ONE to eventuate.

Tonight: Eagles v Saints. Root for the Eagles
Saturday 12/9: Giants v Demons. Root for the Dees
Monday 14/9: Pies v Suns. Root for the Suns
Friday 18/9: Saints v Giants. TBC. This root comes down to tonight’s eagles and saints game. If the saints beat the eagles, then this game we’ll be rooting for the Saints. If the eagles win then this game won’t matter as we’ll jump whoever loses and make the 8.
Monday 21/9: Pies v Power. Root for the Power

Now if you’re a punter, that’s pretty nice odds that at least 1 of those eventuate. But this is 2020 and it’s also assuming we take care of business, which we should.

I am expecting a big performance from Melbourne, a dominant performance by Nic Nat to off set the Cokes mid field outs and a few celebratory drinks as things continue to fall our way. Go the Default Dogs!!!!

The good thing is that the dees are still potentially a finals chance after GWS’ loss. A lot would need to fall their way, but if they beat the giants and then the bombers, they’d make the 8 if we lost one of our two. So there’s plenty to play for.

The only good thing about needing to scramble to make the 8 is how it bumps up the watchability of all the surrounding games. I’ll always remember seeing dozens of people in Dogs gear at an Essendon Melbourne game in 2005 because of its finals implications for us (obviously as a finals relevant game Essendon lost).

Yes, I am expecting Melbourne to be up for it from the off. I am expecting fireworks. A melee before the first bounce and a few reports and suspensions are not out of the question.

Let’s hope they stick Thug Greene in his arse-without wanting GBH or anything too spiteful. He has been a little out of sorts playing wise from last few GWS games (I think he was injured & not playing before that) I have seen -long may that continue. Talented yet totally unlikeable.
