Re: Player Contract Status
So, as it stands if we only sign Bruce & Keath, we only need five list spots opened. Three for the draft, two for trade.
(1) Boyd (2) Picken (3) Morris (4) Roberts (5) Webb
Dicko might be going around in 2020.

Good , I don’t see the need for many changes.

Re: Player Contract Status
This was the status on the AFL website today:
In limbo: The Dogs' successful Trade Period in landing key pillars Alex Keath and Josh Bruce has rookie Ryan Gardner's time at Whitten Oval in doubt. Tory Dickson (pictured) was told he had to wait until post Trade Period, while Fletcher Roberts, Roarke Smith and Lukas Webb are yet to be offered deals with Monday's list management meeting to determine their fate.
Delisted: Nil
Retired: Tom Boyd, Dale Morris, Liam Picken and Lukas Webb are yet to be offered deals with Monday's list management meeting to determine their fate.

Re: Player Contract Status
I would imagine Roberts and Gardiner gone with who we picked up.
A Back and forward for a back and forward.
Dickson and Webb would be decided on what type of player we are looking at at 13 I would think.

Re: Player Contract Status
Think Dicko will be retained, Webb and Roberts probably most at risk.
Webb and Dicko have done pretty well off field this month....they may be making more from racing than footy over the next 12 months!

Re: Player Contract Status
We are the only team not to announce any delistings.
I wonder if it's simply a timing issue post trade period and not take any shine of the AFLW Draft today. Or whether there's some serious debate around Tory Dickson (vs a DFA) or the exit of a contracted fringe player (see Cloke, Redpath). I don't see any huge issues sorting out decisions on Roberts, Webb, Roarke & Gardner.

Re: Player Contract Status
Roberts, Webb depart the Kennel
Fletcher Roberts and Lukas Webb have been advised they will not be offered contracts by the Western Bulldogs for 2020.
Roberts, 26, was a member of the Bulldogs’ historic 2016 AFL premiership side.
The key defender played 51 AFL games – two of those in 2019 – across eight seasons, after joining the club in the pre-season draft of 2011.
His best season was 2016, where he featured in 18 AFL matches, including the preliminary final and grand final wins.
Webb, 23, played in Footscray’s 2016 VFL premiership team.
The midfielder made a return to football this season after sustaining a neck injury in 2018, but was unable to break into the AFL side.
He was drafted with pick 27 in the 2014 national draft, playing 24 AFL games over five seasons.
“We thank Fletcher and Lukas for their contributions at our football club,” General Manager of List and Recruiting, Sam Power, said.
“Both were part of team success in 2016, with Fletcher an important member of our AFL premiership side and Lukas among the best performers in Footscray’s VFL triumph.
“They have been well-respected members of our playing group, and we wish them all the best for the future.”
Roberts and Webb join retired trio Dale Morris, Liam Picken and Tom Boyd as departures from the Bulldogs’ playing list in 2019.

Just that there is no mention of what is happening with Dickson, Roarke & Gardner. Surely Tory is safe now, no idea about the rookies.

Yep. We know the field of DFAs and if something was happening Dicko would be gone. So a one year extension seems a safe bet.
Assuming La Young is upgraded in lieu of Pick 89, then the rookie list can stay together consisting of Khamis, Sweet, Roarke & Gardner. Why we wouldn't cut Roarke & Gardner is a seperate question.

Aren't midseason rookie picks essentially unsigned at the end of season unless stated otherwise?

Another poster (sorry who it was) mentioned that mid season pick ups can get offered 18 months and we didn't specify either way. With Bruce & Keath hopefully he goes back to Fooscray and proves many of us wrong after technical or straight forward delistment. On AFEL.com.au they've been referencing the other cut mid season pick ups as 'delisted' if that helps any.

Kudos to Webby. The bloke literally broke his neck giving everything for red, white and blue jumper.
Complete credit to him for cracking in, in the role he was asked to play. And complete credit to him to fighting back to get in the paddock.
