Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series
Just read it’s the lowest score in a GF since 1960. A 59 year record broken.

GWS were pathetic today. I bet $100 we would have put up a better fight.

Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series
Bucking the trend, and nobody likes a pile on more than I do, but the rest of the competition should be ashamed by how easily it handed a really good, but not excellent Richmond a flag.
GWS were excellent this finals series and deserved to be runners up more than any other team. That Richmond was able to win 11 in a row to win a grand final is an excellent effort. In fact, it's an amazing effort - but a decent competition could have stopped it.
The year we won we had 15 wins under our belt before making finals. That's a hard year.

And remarkably, the lowest score ever achieved in Giants' history. Quite the feat when you recall how comedically bad those early years were.
And they kindly waited for the biggest stage to do it.
They really have spoiled us today, I'm almost grateful.

I think they were lucky to be runners up, Collingwood handed them the prelim win.
Don't forget this GWS team only won 13 games in the H&A were kept goalless by us for a half of football two weeks before the finals and embarrassed themselves in Canberra the week before our game.

Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series
It's a sad sad day when I barrack for Richmond to win a Grand Final fmd
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series
It's tempered by some acknowledgement that we weren't good enough to get there, BUT:
How good was seeing this strategy completely fail on their biggest stage. For all the bluster, hubris and mental gymnastics to try get them to to this point, to spin a narrative of likeable, good for footy types, to have them completely and utterly laid bare in front of the nation and to be found wanting.
Glorious. Absolutely sensational.

You look at Richmond and that is so true. Very few A graders, but they do play like a team.

I worked out they missed previous GF combatants in their finals which is handy quirk of the seasons and standings.
2017 - Dogs, Swans
2019 - Eagles, Pies.
We at least beat the three time reigning premiers!
I'm interested in two things, their amazing injury history and their draw. I wonder if they're linked? MCG surface is amazing.

I was simply going to present this without comment but my inner tough guy can see at least two prone bodies in that pack just ripe for a good old fashioned gouge.

Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series
We won 19 games in our flag year as they did this year
I’d say the pointy end was way better than it is now
Some say our flag was a fluke , I call bullsh*t on that

Didn't watch it. National holiday here tomorrow and had to work both Saturday and Sunday before it starts.
Only just read the score today!
