    Surprising stats

There are far better stats gurus out there than myself, but I thought it would be good to have an area to post any stat you stumble across that is surprising.

First cab off the rank: Jackson Macrae is equal third in the competition for goal assists with 22. Bonti is two behind in 20.

Yeah true. Plus a mystifying appearance in 1994 when we finished 5th, lost our first final (oh Billy you will be the king of Geelong tonight) but still went through to the semi final stage so we went deep quite a few times but couldn't get over the hump.

    Re: Surprising stats

Jack Macrae this year is the only player in the entire competition to be Top 10 Contested Possessions & Top 10 Uncontested Possessions.

Hurt you in the inside, hurt you on the outside. Hurt you all over.

    Re: Surprising stats

We have had one of the most settled sides for the season, with 9 players playing every game and another only missing one. Only Brisbane (11) has had more play every game.

    Can we name all 9?

Without looking it up I'll go

Wood, Cordy, Bont, Macrae, B Smith, Hunter, Dunks, Naughton, Lloyd

    Re: Surprising stats

Article on afl.com about our goal kicking with a nice table on the difference in key stats between rounds 1-18 and rounds 19-23. Thats some form we're steam rolling into finals in.

    Look at the goal kicking!

Wow we are smashing it. Need to maintain the rage.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.
