The most impressive part of all that, is that we were playing contenders in those improved performances.

    Re: Surprising stats

I’m actually a little nervous after the bye round now. I feel we’ve had a run of 2016 finals form up until round 23 and really hoping the bye doesn’t dull that momentum.

It could just be a weekend without footy after living round to round on a top 8 finish too tbh...

We were the youngest and most experienced side on the weekend... and also fielded 10 premiership players!

Yeah well everyone else is in the same boat. It's not like we're the only team that had the bye. AND we had the same scenario in 2016.
Don't worry about it. we are FLYING!!!

Really refreshing to see that. Great stat. We are actually kicking some healthy scores. Our defence as well has been excellent.

True, lots of comparisons between 2016 and now - true in the way we're playing, not so in the broader context. In the way we've played the last few weeks there are distinct similarities - our handball effectiveness, the spread from contests and the running in waves - but we limped into the finals in 2016 and the bye regenerated our ranks. This year we're going in with a full head of steam and ready to bulldoze anything in our way. I'm not writing us off, did that at the start of the year and was wrong - saturday afternoons final will be the best game of the weekend IMO.

Does the orange vs grey denote anything significant?

I'd love to see this split out between th front and back half of the year. I expect there wouldnt be a huge difference on number alone, its the efficiency inside 50 and control through the middle leading to better deliver into the F50 that improved our outcomes.

Not much difference for marks inside 50, between the two halves. The big difference has been the defensive side, especially stopping the opposition from scoring.
