I wouldn't have thought so. I think with enough strength work he'll be fine. That his entire knee is kaput after that vision probably suggests to me he's got a fair amount of flex in his ligaments/joints.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

I was reading that the LCL has much more blood flow than the ACL so healing is much quicker, and it’s easier for it to strengthen up again. Seems similar to the Charlie Curnow injury and no one is questioning his ability to return to his absolute best.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Yep, if you are going to damage a ligament then it's the one on the side that you are going to want to damage rather than the one on the front.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

My reading suggested a severe Grade 3 would require 4 months of rehab, anything less than that is a blessing.
I just hope there's not too much other damage, it was an ugly looking landing.

Club just released this :
Young gun Aaron Naughton will have surgery to repair his left knee injury.
The 19-year-old sustained the injury in the third quarter of the Western Bulldogs’ elimination final loss to the GWS Giants.
Scans earlier this week confirmed lateral ligament damage, with the following specialist consultation determining Naughton would require surgery.
Naughton is expected to return to full training following the Christmas break.
Midfield duo Lachie Hunter and Tom Liberatore will also have off-season surgery.
Liberatore, who was hampered by knee soreness late in the season, will have an operation on his right knee to repair a cartilage injury.
Hunter had a left shoulder reconstruction earlier this week, and is expected to return to full training prior to the Christmas break.
Mitch Wallis, who had surgery on a stress fracture in his lower leg earlier this year, has started running and is expected to return to full training before the end of 2019.

Full training post Christmas sounds good to me. Not a full pre-season but still gets some in.

I'll take it.
When things were going from bad to worse on Saturday, my thoughts shifted to how much a year long Naughton absence would hurt 2020. It would be some hit.
