Isabella Grant (Western Bulldogs) has already been guaranteed a list spot as father-daughter selections, with the pick used on her to be named during the draft. This according to the AFL.

    First pick

Emerging midfielder-forward Gabby Newton has been taken with Pick 1 in the AFLW draft, with Western Bulldogs coach Nathan Burke dubbing her one of the best exponents of the handball he’s ever seen.

Newton’s selection came after original Pies marquee recruit Mo Hope withdrew from the AFLW draft.

Newton said she had little idea she’d be taken so early.

Judging by her form, i don't think there was any chance we would pick up Hope.

Izzy Huntington talking to a few of the new recruits:

There was a great interview with Nell Morris-Dalton the other day. She is one tough cookie.

Although we've lost some talent through trading , it is going to be exciting having all these girls coming through at the same time.

    Re: 2019 Draft

Good luck to our new recruits-nice to see we have brought in some speed and good tacklers. Looks like we will have a very good forward group - something we have lacked a little. Looking forward to AFLW and hoping they can agree upon longer & fairer season. Will be exciting to see Grant’s daughter Isabella as well as our number 1 draft pick Gabby play for us.

    Go Girls!!

Our team was underwhelming last year so it will be good to have a new coach and a whole bunch of young talented players to build around

Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!
