Anyone rate Dyson Heppell as a captain?

I can't think of anyone who in recent times who has led his club so poorly. He seems like a good fella and was probably the only man for the job at the time but I don't think leadership is his go.

Hugely overrated by Essendon supporters and coaches.

Part of the Essendon issue is a complete lack of leadership or even any real option for leadership.

Take the tatts away and it's not unlike me really. My eyes are a bit darker.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I don’t rate Heppell at all. Terribly slow player with limited skills.

    Re: Essendon

Weirdly I saw Dyson Heppell two weekends in a row while working. I saw him at the zoo one Saturday while working with a client and then saw him the following Saturday standing outside the 7-11 in Essendon while driving home after working a shift with the same client.

    Re: Essendon

Heppell is a good honest hard player, a good player to have as a leader but he just seems to miss that leadership aura.
In that side who would suit a captains role ?
    Devon Smith ?
Daniher if he wasn’t injured ?
I think it goes to show they pick players on talent but not so much the application and great person model also. Eg Stringer.
Had a colleague at work ( not a dog supporter) mention that Tippenwoody doesn’t even look fit and has a tummy.
I give Dodoro credit for being able to sell the club to players but sadly it’s all done with mirrors and he chooses to pay big dollars for midfielders and has no idea on any other sort of player , backs or forwards, the only great forward they have got is a father/son and if he goes they are chasing Crouch, another mid ! so who’s the big backman or forward?

Devon Smith is a turd and it would send a terrible message that he's the best you could do for captain.

    Re: Essendon

When you look at the Essendon list, perhaps they need to appoint a captain like they do in tennis or golf and just have a non-playing captain.

I hope they elevate Stringer into the leadership group for the lols.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
