There will be pressure on him from now to see if he can turn them into a top 8 club.

Have faith. Scott is an ok coach but no guarantee to succeed, and as much as I'm looking forward to the delusion of Hird coming back to save them I am quite enjoying this scenario where every coach they have has zero job security because Hirdy is always watching and waiting to take over. Plus the longer he isn't coach the higher the delusional expectations from their fans.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Hird being lauded for his bravery and courage in applying for the job.

Personally I put it down to hubris and self-indulgence, but each to their own.

Well I mean I can think of another coach who’s coming up on 10 years without a top 4 finish.

Depends when you measure top 4. According to the draft it's where you finish in the finals

    So he's had 2 !

Agree though we really want to finish top 4 home and away to give our selves repeated looks at it like the Cats.

Scott was in 2x Prelims with NM so by that measure he also had 2.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Apparently Sheedy voted for Hird despite the coaching subcommittee endorsing Scott. Lost the vote 6-1.

If it's not time to get the broomsticks out and call Shenanigans down at Bomber Land then it never will be.
