Re: Essendon
Not sure anyone's pressed the 'joy' button - it's an injury development in the relevant thread suffixed to commentary that he's not the player he once was cos of, y'know, injuries.

Is there a joy button? Are we talking about football?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I hope they don’t get cleared for 100 years.

According to the Age headlines the AFL are investigating as to whether Connor McKenna broke the Covid-19 protocols.

And so they should. It was reported on Wednesday he went for Open For Inspection for a new rental as his lease is expiring. Apparently players can attend open for inspections if they are selling their home but no mention of Rentals.

Looks like he visited an open house for a rental, which is not allowed under the rules. Also mayhve put 7 team mates under risk.
AFL may suspend him for the foreseeable future.

Re: Essendon
I think it would be silly to suspend him on the basis that if he is renting he couldn't go to an open for inspection, but if he was buying he could.

Rules are rules and he broke them.

Re: Essendon
Essendon will be forced to still field a team, even if a number of players are in quarantine.

Possibly the rules haven't been thought out properly...….you know bad rules are still bad rules and if they are ill-considered then there's always a chance to review circumstances and amend them.

Well whether it is right or wrong, no sympathy for Conner or Essendon. He knew he was breaking the rules, has put all players at risk and the livelihood of many in the AFL.

Re: Essendon
Well I don't know whether he knew he was, and also let's see what the contact tracing and subsequent testing uncovers as anyone who went to the inspection will now need to be tested. If nobody who attended the open for inspection tests positive then what's the point?
