Do you mean they stopped taking on paid members? Now is the time to collect members when your team is down . Its $$$ revenue , especially when they no chance of finals , so no pressure on attendance seats being available. Well the laat 7000 days is pretty good history.
Essendon operating model on lalala land
They froze the cost of membership. Even then they have double our membership.

Re: Essendon
My podiatrist noticed my Bulldogs cap and said to me "My husband barracks for the Essendon". Trying not to be too unkind I said "They use to be good a long time ago". She said "That's what my husband says". Had to stop myself for laughing out real loud.

Re: Essendon
Should have been expelled from the competition.
Perhaps Sheehan can write an article retrospectively pondering if we should go back and do the right thing finally and throw them out?

Re: Essendon
Essendon now want to move from marvel to the MCG .. also saw they won’t give up the pokies or they would be in massive trouble .
So it’s not only the footy department that’s shite . They obviously have no idea on how to run financially if they are relying on the pokies to survive.
What a huge club they are surviving off gambling . Such a moral club.

Despite their perennial underachieving performances they still get some significant crowds so perhaps they do qualify for the move to the MCG. They would be behind Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond with attendance numbers but as much as I despise them there might be some merit in them moving from Marvel too the MCG.
It doesn't surprise me that they're hooked on the gambling dollars.

Truely a gypsy club now . Lost windy hill to some ground near the airport and now moving home ground to play.

Always have been. Started at a ground in Flemington then played at the East Melbourne Cricket Ground then Windy Hill a couple of years at the MCG until they went to Marvel and now they want to go back to the MCG again.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Essendon
Their members will be very happy.
Could be good for us if we can snag a better deal with the big dog gone.

I think deals finished when the AFL bought the ground.

Excluded from finals many years ago, never to return.
Request to Mods.
Can we now have a rule to only refer to Essendon as the Slow Horses on WOOF?
