Re: Essendon
Essendon will probably go with Hird and it will be like the return of the Messiah. Sheedy making the power plays, lol.

Sheedy wasn't even at Essendon for a number of years.
Carlton and Essendon have been crap since the AFL equalised the competition. Both clubs have been stuck in 1970s "big club" mindset for so long they have not moved into the modern era.
Carlton almost got there - until they paid well overs for 4 flankers at the trade table.

There was. They mentioned it again on C7 news tonight.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Essendon
Bro if all you wanna do is talk about how good you were in 1993 then build a museum or something. If they reappoint Hird the AFL should take the keys off them.

Still the only premiership winning team in history to have been caught cheating the salary cap in the same year as their flag.

If AFL had the balls like NRL, they would have been stripped of that flag. Storm says hello

Wouldn't that just give Carlton another premiership? Computer says no.

Nah I'm pretty sure there just isn't a premier officially in the case of the Storm's years they got penalised.
Happy to be corrected if my recollection is off

On the NRL official website, they list the Storm but with an asterisk saying it was stripped, so basically still showing them as Premier!

Carlton and Adelaide can replay the 1993 grand final, with the players from 1993.

Re: Essendon
Who do you think Essendon might turn to now to coach them?
I think they will either need to go hard at getting Hinkley or could they consider Ross Lyon?
The Hird speculation is strong as well.
