Think it’s a good appointment by them. I have some issues with the stint at North but I think he will be able to stare down the factions and coterie groups. Hope I am wrong, much prefer them being a basket case.

I think they will put someone around him with the job to manage those factions.
Twodogs wanted someone to do the same for Bevo when he first arrived at the Kennel and if I'm Essendon I'd be making that move.

Yep it's the first thing I'd be doing if I were him. Those bastards are ruthless and eat their own just for fun.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Running local footy in Vic where every club thinks they are the most important and then his current role at the AFL is actually a good preparation for what he will go through with their supporters.

I am so much looking forward to the reaction from the coaches' box the first time an Essendon player gives away a 50 metre penalty for not standing still on the mark next season.

Scott has a 106-105 win-loss record, including 4 finals series and 2 prelim final losses. Most of it with an over-achieving list.
If I was a Bombers fan, there are definitely worse options.
I know I said this, but let me now say... Hahahahahaha
Their incredibly stringent process gets Brad Scott in for 1 (one) last minute interview and offers him the job immediately, announcing it within a few hours. Amazing.

I just hope they don't bounce back next season. It's been an extended run since they've won a final and another 12 months would be a nice sweetener. It should never be forgotten that Port triggered this.

Re: Essendon
David King kindly highlighted that despite coaching for 10 years, he never once finished in the top 4. I found that rather interesting considering his longevity.
He could be added to the ekers list.
