Our injury reports have always been like this.

Based on the injury and assuming the recovery is the same, he should be close the week after Dunkley. Unfortunately that concurs with the timeline given for Dunkley.

Jong went down the next week with the same injury and he is on the same timeline as Naughts.

Hopefully they are giving a conservative outlook and all will be available just a little quicker.
29 June it was 6 to 8. Now it is 4 to 6

So he misses 3 months with groin issues (don't recall him every being off the injury list), then gets the quad injury and gets hit for 6.

Like him as a player but geez, not doing himself any favours for future contract(s).

He re-injured himself which has been the set-back
He doesn't need another set-back this year

That certainly sounds like what happened given he initially did the quad in the lead up to round 2 v St Kilda (just before Wood did his) and was first listed as 1-2 weeks out. The quad first popped up on the injury list on the 9th of June and 6 weeks later he is still 3-5 away.

Hopefully he can get back before the end of the season.

    Re: Injury List - 2020

I've changed my tune a bit on the injury management and communication - I have no issue how the club handles either of these facets.

Outside looking in we are extremely conservative (and by our own admissions) with injury management and rehab.

But once a player returns to playing the re-occurrence of injury is pretty good.

the 9th of June it was listed as 1 to 2, then the 16th it was listed as 6 weeks - must have been worse than the medicos thought initially

Any word on the progress of Riley Garcia’s knee rehab. He’s been showing as indefinite on our list for a long time particularly given his surgery was 12 months ago. Has he had a set back along the way?

    Porter to miss Tigers match

At least one change will need to be made by the Western Bulldogs at the selection table, with last week’s debutant Callum Porter ruled out of Wednesday night’s game against Richmond.

Porter copped a knock to his shoulder in a debut win against the Gold Coast Suns but came back on to play an important role in a tense finish.

A no risk approach will be taken with the young midfielder.

“In his first game in the AFL, Cal received a hit to his shoulder and it’s caused a minor grade AC injury,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.

“He’s going to miss the next one to two weeks.”

The Bulldogs will also be unable to call on forwards Bailey Dale, Josh Schache and Tory Dickson against the Tigers.

Dale was ruled out of last week’s game with a minor ankle injury, while Dickson (quad) and Schache (concussion) were both injured in a scratch match against the Suns.

All three are expected to return to availability within the fortnight.

    Injury list

Josh Schache (concussion) – 1 week
Callum Porter (shoulder) – 1-2 weeks
Tory Dickson (quad) – 1-2 weeks
Bailey Dale (ankle) – 1-2 weeks
Josh Dunkley (ankle) – 1-3 weeks
Aaron Naughton (ankle) – 2-4 weeks
Lin Jong (ankle) – 3-5 weeks
Taylor Duryea (quad) – 3-6 weeks
    Riley Garcia (knee) - indefinite

Yup, seeing Dunkley listed as 1-3 weeks away is pretty exciting! Although you do need to factor in that two weeks could still cover 3 matches these days.

There will be a bye after this block of games. I'd prefer to see Dunks and Naughts come back after the bye - there are still 5 rounds to go before finals.
