Josh Schache (concussion) – 1 week
Callum Porter (shoulder) – 1-2 weeks
Tory Dickson (quad) – 1-2 weeks
Bailey Dale (ankle) – 1-2 weeks
Josh Dunkley (ankle) – 1-3 weeks
Aaron Naughton (ankle) – 2-4 weeks
Lin Jong (ankle) – 3-5 weeks
Taylor Duryea (quad) – 3-6 weeks
    Riley Garcia (knee) - indefinite
If we can get a few into the mix to rotate through this block of four weeks (Schache, Porter, Dickson, Dale, possibly Dunkley + Hunter), coupled with our extra break on each of our opponents we should be in a pretty good position.

    Sideline stint for Suckling

Experienced utility Matt Suckling looks set to spend a month on the sidelines, following a hamstring injury in Wednesday night’s defeat to Richmond.

The 32-year-old hobbled from the field in the first quarter and did not return.

Scans have revealed a moderate grade injury, which will see Suckling miss a significant period of football.

“During the first quarter in an acceleration effort, Matt suffered a hamstring injury,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.

“We’ll continue to assess Matt’s injury over the coming days, but expect him to miss the next four to six weeks.”

On a positive note, draftee Riley Garcia is set to play his first minutes in red, white and blue in a scratch match this weekend.

The 19-year-old joined the Bulldogs with pick 62 in last year’s draft, having undergone an ACL reconstruction midway through 2019.

“He’s worked really closely with Nick Stone and Shane O’Sullivan over the last (nine) months and his rehab has gone really smoothly,” Bell said

“He’s jumped every hurdle and ticked every box we’ve asked him to.

“I’m glad to say that this weekend, Riley will be available for selection and play limited minutes in our scratch match.”

    Injury list

    Riley Garcia (knee) – Available
    Tory Dickson (quad) – Test
    Josh Dunkley (ankle) – Test
    Callum Porter (shoulder) – Test
    Josh Schache (concussion) – Test
Aaron Naughton (ankle) – 1-2 weeks
Lin Jong (ankle) – 3-4 weeks
Taylor Duryea (quad) – 3-4 weeks
Matt Suckling (hamstring) – 4-6 weeks

Good to see Dunkley may be available at least for the Brisbane game.

Why is Jong so far back when his injury was in the same game as Naughton.

Jong's injury was a week later against North.

Garcia back is positive. Must've felt like a long time between games for him.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Yeah probably want to get a few scratch matches not sure exactly how many I would imagine coming back from a knee injury before we try him out at senior level. He hasn't played footy for a while. Another possible debutant in 2020 for us.

    Injury Update

The Western Bulldogs will be forced into making at least one change this week, with courageous defender Hayden Crozier ruled out.

Crozier – who has been among the Bulldogs’ most consistent performers in 2020 – suffered a toe injury early on in Monday night’s game against Port Adelaide and is expected to miss up to three weeks of football.

However, the impact of that loss could be softened by a significant addition at the other end of the ground, with Aaron Naughton in the frame to return against the Brisbane Lions.

“In the first quarter of the game (against Port Adelaide), Hayden sustained a strain to one of the ligaments in his big toe,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.

“We will allow this ligament to heal over the coming weeks, but expect him to miss the next 2-3 games.

“In some great news, Aaron has continued to build continuity in his training.

“He still has to tick some final boxes before we declare him available, but we’ll see him return this weekend against Brisbane or next week against Adelaide.”

Bailey Dale (ankle), Tory Dickson (quad) and Callum Porter (shoulder) will all be available for selection after overcoming their respective injuries.

However, key forward Josh Schache will remain on the injury list, with some groin troubles following his return to training after a concussion.

“Over the last week, Josh has developed some groin overload-type symptoms,” Bell said.

“We want to be conservative and allow these symptoms to settle, so Josh won’t play this week. We’re continuing to work through Josh’s plan and will confirm his availability over the coming days.”

Horrible years for Schache and Duryea to date. Let's hope their fortunes soon change.
