Peter Siddle Retires from International Cricket

    Siddle Retires

Veteran seamer Peter Siddle has announced his retirement from international cricket, informing his Australia teammates of his decision ahead of play on day four at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Siddle played the last of 67 Tests for Australia in September, when he helped Australia retain the Ashes on UK soil for the first time since 2001.

Long, distinguished career. A real workhorse who was often called upon to do the heavy lifting when we really needed it.

Hope he continues to go around for the strikers for a few more years yet.

Good move for both parties although Tasmania do have some emerging quicks

Emerging quicks often emerge more quickly when they play alongside an experienced campaigner.

Along with Jackson Bird and now Siddle the Tasmanian quick bowlers will have plenty of experience around them but it probably also means reduced opportunities for them
