SA and WA are closing border like Tassie too.
Likely a long time for our boys to stew over 2 lousy last performances. Time to steel their bodies and minds. Pity they cannot redeem themselves as chance this will play in their minds in a non-productive way. Club Psych (Lisa?) will be as crucial as our strength and conditioning folks.
Also time to watch all our 2016 season games again!

Let's be honest here. Blind freddy could see this was going to happen. No other sporting code is operating in any country that has been impacted. Lots of hubris from the AFL to believe they could keep their national competition running.

Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
I thought AFL did ok actually. They clearly stated this could change at moments notice. They adopted a very defensible risk based approach.
If Fed Gov had shut borders a few weeks ago I am guessing AFL could have got a few more rounds in.
Time for us all to focus on looking after our loved ones and embracing a community minded approach. And play a lot if board games and 2016 doggies season replays.

So what about our economy? what about the world economic system?
This is crazy scary times! I really worry about friends & family & people everywhere because small business & medium business is in the toilet now. We are talking about crippling millions of Australians with many losing their jobs. We all have mortgages to pay, how do people meet their financial obligations?
All this because the government cares about the elderly & vulnerable. Well they never seemed to care about the elderly before this. I pray i'm so wrong & things go back to normal in a few weeks but the long game looks bleak.

I'm Detroit Tigers fan in the MLB & i saw an article today that said Fox Sports Detroit were going to show games from the 2019 season to give fans some baseball to watch. Only thing is we lost over 100 games last season & had the worst record in baseball. It would be like channel 7 broadcasting the Peter Rhode era!

AFEL holding a live press conference in about 25 minutes. Ch7 taking it live. About 4.40pm.
I guess it's a matter of how long they suspend the season for.

Morrison repeated many in his presser today. "This is going to take six months." I can't see any path to how we get a 2020 Premier. The season is done.
It's going to be devastating for so many different industries. Just heart breaking. But the alternative is worse.

Lucky that Collingwood missed so many shots, otherwise we could've ended up the wooden spooners. Six months means Cricket Australia have the access to the grounds pretty much.

Yes. All of the modelling indicates it's a long term strategy that's required. Unfortunately the season most likely done. We take the hit to protect our most vulnerable; that's a decent society.

this time I have to disagree with you. Peoples lives matter , doesn’t matter how old they are .

If we have been 'worked out' despite the preseason to address it. Maybe a couple of months to actually address it isn't the worst thing.
