Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
Players want a delay and they should stand their ground! Not an ounce of consideration for players and their families at all.

I don’t get this statement. Why do you see them playing a game as being so dangerous? There would be more risk if they were sitting in a closed room having a meeting.
The Angels have the phone box. Don't blink!

Delayed until when? June - August are likely to be far worse than now.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Really? So they'd be in a meeting keeping their distance from one another and that's more dangerous than a contact sport? Ok. As long as the footy is being played that's all that matters.

Just watching Gil being interviewed by Gerrard and Robbo. Robbo needs to step away from interviewing people, it's just not his go

And being interviewed and asked difficult questions isn't exactly Gil's go either. It must be painful to watch (I ditched Foxtel at the end of last footy season and bought a whiz bang telly that we don't really need Foxtel on so I'm not seeing it).
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I can't see why the season should be called off at this stage. Other workplaces with similar numbers are expected to work. Sure if a few clubs get it then shut down perhaps if a comp can't be wrangled from the remaining clubs. Four teams is all that's needed, two for a grand final. In fact I would watch a season of Bulldogs v who ever each week and then a GF.

AFL site now reporting that test results are not yet known. Any reports clearing him are not correct at this stage. Season opener in the balance.

It's my feeling side speaking. I find it difficult to accept that there will be no AFL for a year because some Chinese person ate a wild animal.

Yep, all the measures put into place are half arsed. Schools still running, Trams and trains full of people, offices still operating, people still arriving from Europe, USA and not being checked but apparently self isolating, cafes, restaurants all operating.
If you are going to put in measures to flatten the curve, you do it properly. Realistically, Melbourne has 5 million people are there are very few cases. This will of course get worse, because we are not being serious enough.

Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
Players voting tonight and AFL will make a decision tomorrow.
Mark Stevens:
Believe players tonight grappling with 2 options:
1) Take a break, come back for Round 1 at end of May with hopefully fans.
Or ..
2) Play 4 rounds without fans, take break then play 13 hopefully with fans.
What would you do?
AFL also thinking about a top ten finals - to get more games in
