Long term ramifications could also hinder future father sons with the 5 fewer games this year. Imagine missing out on a future Ablett.

Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
One thing that I don't think is brought up are the infections from state to state. NSW are 200+ cases now I believe, WA around 20. Why would WA teams want to travel to NSW or over to Vic/QLD with a higher risk of infection and possibly carry it back into another state.

Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
AFL Players Association CEO Paul Marsh has said the playing group, both AFL and AFLW, are committed to playing this weekend if the league goes ahead. However, Marsh added that the footballers would prefer the season to remain at 22 weeks, rather than 17 as was revealed by the AFL on Monday night.
“Both playing groups are prepared to play as soon as they are given the green light by the AFL,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
“It is clear that the majority of players want to get the season started.
“Given the 40-week window available for the season, players urge the AFL to be open to a 22 round season should it be feasible.
"From our perspective we should be keeping the option over for a 22-week season."
Marsh added that the players “accept” that they will have to take a pay cut for the 2020 season.
The CEO did not rule out the possibility that we go into Thursday, the day of Carlton versus Richmond, without a clear view of whether the season will start.
AFLW players have said their preferred situation would be to move into a finals series starting this weekend with the top four teams from each conference, according to multiple reports.
Former Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy says he is "staggered" by the AFL playing group's desire to play this weekend.
AFL still not making a decision on this week.

I work in a hospital and hand washing has always been important and I don't handle patients.
Mandatory training every year.

Two happy birthdays is always what I've been taught.
It's Happy birthday for hand washing and Stayin' Alive for chest compressions in CPR.

Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?
I'm in a wheelchair, so I usually carry handwash/wipes everyday. People are going on about touching door handles etc - when your hands are on wheels all day it is a different mindset! I'm also a teacher, and laughed out loud when our useless PM said you could still teach and exercise social distancing measures! We're preparing for the possibility of school closure.

Ridiculous. Why should schools stay open when everything else is closing down. Because nurses will need to look after their kids at home? Find other arrangements I say. We've got 560 students at our school. High schools have over a 1000. Kids while low risk are the worst perpetrators of spreading viruses. I pulled my kids out of school last week. We've loaded up the camper trailer and are heading off tomorrow. F%$# this shi*& and go Dogs.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.
