Yeah, Carlton have already suggested Prince's Park for the round two match. They can get stuffed.

The cancellation of the F1 Grand Prix was interesting, because as far as I can see, once the crowd was kept away it made bugger all difference.

The teams had already gathered together and flown out here; set up and unpacked their gear in Melbourne.

The individual teams then all packed up and flew home together, and no doubt turned up for work together for the next working day. The only difference being that their flights were a couple of days earlier than they otherwise would have been.

From what I can see they might well have stayed here, and put on the show, because (one member of one team apart, who had already been isolated) nothing was done that would have further reduced the risk of infection.

I fail to see how anyone involved really benefitted significantly from the cancellation.

    The AFL wants to play.
    The players want to play.
    We are not in lockdown.
    People are using public transport.
    People are going to work.
    People are going to schools.

Not trying to be complacent as I am very wary, and doing all the right things, but the chances of catching coronavirus in a city of 5 million is very minuscule.

Given there was a large crowd outside the gate when they cancelled it, it was certainly a poor way of handling it.

The AFL has already announced if round 1 goes ahead it will be without crowds so we at least won't have that same issue.

With the virus's recorded infection numbers doubling every few days that's going to change pretty quickly mate.

Given it's meant to start tomorrow night the AFL are cutting a decision very, very fine.

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Look at this site. You can click on charts and figures of (some) individual countries.

The infection spreads slowly for while as people are unaware they have it, and then it literally explodes.
By the time people are quarantined, the virus has already spread.

That's why our government should act NOW and not wait.

You can throw in that clubs (like Carlton in particular) that refuse to move away from their reliance on pokies are about to get hit harder than those that have weaned themselves off and have found other revenue streams.

SEN has been hilarious the last 15-20 mins. Andy and Bob lost patience with the AFL taking so long that they're discussing Top 5 birds!

    Needed a laugh.

Am I the only one beginning to think the AFL's dragging this out because 'clicks'?

Trekking through the Daintree back in the early '90s and the guide is telling us about this crazy dangerous bird that will kill a fully grown adult if they get too close to a nest that has eggs in it. At that exact moment some body said "Like that one, you mean?" The guide just said "walk backwards very slowly and dont take your eye off it"
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
