Agree with the second part, but not the first - I've been into pandemics for 15 years and read a lot about the other stuff.
Back onto footy, I find it hard to see how we are going to get through this season. Past flu pandemics have often had strong second waves about 6 months from the start. I think we are still in the first wave, so things could get tricky around September.
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

What about our government health experts? Their comments have to go through the politicians first. You can't have a spokesperson in an organisation making public comments that does not get the green light from the boss first.
Then I'd rather hear from them than an unidentified blob of people I'm being told are saying something.
What I care about is their reputation and potential bias's. A politician has far too many incentives to, if not outright lie, present things in a certain light in order to support a particular viewpoint that suits them politically.
A government official may need their statements approved but is less likely to be willing to destroy their reputation for their boss' purposes. They're also presumably currently engaged in the profession.
So basically I don't trust a US senator's opinions regardless of his or her previous profession as much as the people actually in that profession.
EDIT: Now that I catch up apologies for further derailing the thread

All, if it's not footy related lets reel in the discussions please.
We are not a site that should be handing out advice on how this might be cured

Stevo reckons we're going into a WA hub, which is not so cash money. Hopefully we get West Coast first up.

Just more BS for the asterix season.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

As much as it further taints the year for every side that doesn't win it, and it's a reasonable 'out', in a way it also heightens the achievement of whoever does win the flag given all the obstacles and challenges

If Brisbane wins it off the back of a season played primarily in QLD, it’ll be a total sham.

Is it any more of a sham than Richmond winning flags at the MCG?
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

It is what it is. The fact is that C-19 has played havoc on things beyond the footy season. Whichever team wins it will deserve it!

I think so, West Coast and Fremantle weren’t isolated 4000 k’s from home like this. I am in the keep playing camp, for the game economy and most importantly what sport should be about a distraction and entertainment for the masses. Especially now; however I do think it will be the most compromised of seasons in an already compromised league. I won’t weigh this flag as highly as others. Somewhere in between Ansett cup and 2016. Unless we win it. Then greatest triumph over adversity in the history of sport ....!

It is compromised. Not the same season. It is what it is.

Looks like we're headed to Qld, along with Nth, Stk, Ess, Rich and Carl.

I don't get it. Saints have already played all but 1 of those teams

This is better than WA. If we're isolated in Queensland then Macrae suddenly became my pick for the Brownlow.
