8 ACLs this pre-season so far!

    Mitch Brown - West Coast
    Paul Haselby - Freo
    Brad Dick - Collingwood
    Kristin Thornton - Sydney
    Nick Malceski - Sydney

    What is happening?

EDIT - Bulldogbelle is more on the ball than me

Its one of the great mysteries. I guess hard grounds and a very quick game.

Is this the type of injury the AFL is looking to stop with the capped interchange? Because 7 already says it won't help

Gee, that's a lot at this time of the year already.

Mitch Brown's a big loss to The Eagles, takes two years before you're back to any sort of form. That'll hurt his development a bit.

The majority of those have occured in the last 3 weeks or so. I feel for those players - this is not how they would have envisioned their season to go this year.

Real bugger about Mitch Brown - looked like a great KPP prospect.

Having said that, obviously terrible for all of them.

Lack of rain you say mjp?

Always sad to see so many go down with ACL injuries.

They root around with the rules but still make clubs play practice matches on bush grounds that get watered once a week.

    That is awful!!!

It's about time they got rid of the NAB cup (9 Pointers what a joke!) and the many pre-season matches before it. There is nothing wrong with a couple of pre-season matches and then getting stuck into the regular season.

Although less money for the AFL I guess.

    Did he give a reason?

Not surprising he would say that, doubt he would admit the grounds were the reason even if he thought it was a possibility.
