Hmm, wheelhouse is an interesting word to use.

Mark Majerczak? I remember him because he abused me when he was plating at Carlton when I was working as a blue coat at Whitten Oval. I may have said something about his mother just beforehand and he wasn't trhe only player to abuse me. When Brad Hardie was at Brisbane we kicked a behind and I had the ball in my hands. Hardie signaled for me to throw the ball to him but I just dropped it and walked away. Hardie came over to pick the ball and said "ain't you a smart arse, don't turn your back on me or it will be the last *!*!*!*!ing thing you ever do" I pointed with my thumb at the crowd and said "these are my people and I haven't shat on them like you did. So try me and see if you make it out alive! I'm not scared of you"

I've never seen someone so angry and frustrated and I will admit to being a little scared.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

His jumper number was somewhere between 20 for 35 if that helps jog a memory

Not the player I am thinking of.

You're normally excellent on the players that came to us with a bit of a reputation. This guy was not a Victorian

Gary Barrow sort of fits with the wheelhouse theme but he played a game for us in the last round of theseason, played well and then got delisted.

OK, this is proving a bit trickier than I thought.
I was recruited from WA, I was about 188cm tall and had the number 30 jumper assigned to me

Well with the year, is it 1988?

Tim Harrington wore 30 around about that time, but he played a few games for us.

BTW, I don't think Westdog54's question has been answered.

One of the funniest things I ever saw on the footy field was Harrington playing on Simon Beasley. Beasley gets injured and trainers come running from everywhere to make sure that he's OK. So while the trainers are all around Beasley laying on the ground the ball gets kicked into the forward line and Beasley springs to his feet and takes the ball on the lead while Harrington is completely blocked by all the trainers in front of him. He'd go one way and the trainers fanned out in front of him so he went the other way only to find the same thing.

I have often wondered if it was a set up or a coincidence.

Assuming I am right it was the 2nd clue that gave it away but they were all logical. Excellent set of clues
