For the love of Croz'
Our history with Hayden Crozier goes back to the year he was drafted where it was reported that we were right into selecting him in the draft before former coach Brendan Mccartney demanded Clay Smith - and we will never begrudge the Smith selection for his brilliant PF and GF performances with the Bullgods of 2016.
BUT....What Crozier has done with his footy since he's been with us is magnificent. His recruitment has been an absolute masterstroke.
He is a highly dependable backline competitor, smart with the ball, has good skills and helps his teammates in all sorts of ways.
I feel like we need a thread in these covid times that focuses on a bit of Croz' love
You are amongst friends, dont be afraid to share your feelings of Croz' love

Absolutely love him, what a great acquisition he has been. Really missed him last week after the AFL changed the rules for tackling players.

Re: For the love of Croz'
Is he the best player we have recruited from another club? We are like a different team with him in the side.
Peter Foster and Nathan Eagleton are the other two we came up with last night.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Galaxy Coleman, Wallet, Jose and Libba Snr went alright also TD.

Harvey Stevens won the 1953 B&F and played in the 1954 premiership after coming from Collingwood. He went there even though his dad was a Footscray legend because they lived in Preston and the F/S system didn't start until a couple of years after his debut for the Magpies. Collingwood left him out of their 1952 finals teams even though he was easily in their best 18 so Harvey walked to his dad's old club. By all accounts he was a very good player who played for Victoria. He lived to see us win the the 2016 flag but died not much longer afterward. He was the Talias' grandfather.

Our backline is superior with Crozier in the side. A very important player for us.

Re: For the love of Croz'
From memory, his career at Freo was largely as an unfulfilled flashy forward half flanker that didn't get his hands on the footy enough, wasn't very hard and flew for unrealistic marks. I'd say his almost the opposite in bulldogs colours; hardly ever wastes a possession and goes for his marks without looking like an idiot, does the one percenters and is hard as nails. One of my favourite players and hopefully will earn a premiership medal like Clay.

He's a gun.
I still can't get over how gutsy he is.

Re: For the love of Croz'
We were massive on him in his draft year
Didn’t Darylmple love Crozier and McCartney love Clay Smith ?
My memory of him at freo was a flashy half forward who was in and out
Been a great get

He sure is gutsy, throws himself into the contest backs into packs, flys high to spoil or mark the ball.
Media always crapping on about Howe, but never mention this bloke.

Why did Freo give him up? Seemed like without much of a fight too.

Think he was just going to go home no matter what and they complied.
Remember some posters around here getting into him seriously once recruited up until half a season in and then he settled. One of the biggest culprits doesn't post here anymore.
I think he could use the footy better by foot, but not every player is perfect and he's good enough in that area. What he lacks there is truly made up in courage, aerial ability and decision making.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

Re: For the love of Croz'
I love it when he sails across the pack and does either the hulk smash out of bounds or just hangs the arm up vertically and does the stiff arm to guide the ball out of danger.
Brilliant acquisition.

Barry hall , Akermanis, Cook, Bamblett, Buhagiar,Toohey and MintonConnell also played well for us.
Plenty over the years put in good service for us.
Even Hamling would fall in as a very good get.
Crozier and is a good win definitely.
Bring back the biff
