I was ok with the deliberate, but the downfield was dubious.

Prior to the downfield being given the boundary umpire set the mark for the Fremantle kick for out on the full around the fifty metre line, then the Carlton free kick was about ten metres further up the field.

Should the rule be the kick for down field is where the ball crosses the boundary line?

Yep, that is exactly what the rule says.

Quit being a bunch of highlight truthers. Hitting that kick from that spot with his right foot was just about impossible and Freo deserved to lose after not coming out after half time anyway.

Its not like it happened to us.

Best after the siren kick since Blighty. You could tell he was very confident beforehand, moving the camerman and security guard out of the way and not wasting time taking the kick once he got settled.

It's not anything to do with that. The information I require is to either prove someone wrong on FB or keep my mouth shut!

Honestly when I saw that I thought he was getting in early on an excuse (as if you need one for not being able to hit a kick from the left pocket fence on your right foot.)

FB is finished for me without the need to keep events diarised. I imagine there's a lot of level headed discussion going on about the free kick though.

The deliberate was a harsh call. The downfield was soft. I don't think that Blues fans would have been outraged if either of those were not called.

However, the kick was a thing of beauty. He was nearly in the hot dog stand. Unbelievable kick.

In the before times pre COVID it evolved into an extremely convoluted calendar for me, however, I have found myself getting involved in things I shouldn't more and more.

Anyway, this is apparently from the rule book:

Yeah, I can't. Some people still bring the lols for me and as I said, while it's an extremely convoluted calendar system it is still a system nonetheless.

Marketplace is literally the only good thing on there - and even that's hit and miss.

Saints giving a lesson to the bombers. Geez they handball more than we do. At half time Parish and McGrath have a combined total of 1 kick, 14 handballs.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Saints have been impressive haven't they. Most thought they were a basket cast last year so full credit to Ratten for reorganizing the team
