    What makes the greatest teams?

    Spotted an interesting article:

A sports writer finds the 'best teams in history' and discovers the one thing they all have in common

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-...alker/12454814

Worth a read but before you do, try guessing what he found.

And would you apply to that the greatest AFL/VFL/ SAFL etc teams? If so, which ones?
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

    I've ordered the book!

Paul Keating once said and I paraphrase 'change the prime minister you change the country'

Thats why I love Easton Wood so much and of course Murphy and Roughead for their parts in our premiership.

I've always maintained that the day we drafted Bontempelli was the day our club changed forever and why I consider Dalrymple to be just as critical to our 2016 flag as Bevo, PG & Bont.

    This quote sums it up:

"When I started looking at them, it was obvious. The beginning of the winning streak and the end of the winning streak for all of these teams corresponded very closely, if not precisely, to the arrival and departure of one player, and that player in every single case would become the leader or the captain of the team."
His arrival and emergence was the catalyst for our club to go further. Adding Wood/Murphy as leaders to the group during a time of chaos was also a masterstroke.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

"Odd characters" - that 2016 team was full of them. Libba, Biggs, Dahl, and having Redpath on the list would have helped.

Libba's still there, and English is a bit odd.
