Re: Game Day Festival of Footy (Round 13-18)

Tigers took our first quarter blue print vs Geelong and expanded on it. Giving them an absolute bath tonight.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Timed it to perfection. I wonder if Tom is playing local footy? If he is I hope he enjoys every second.

I have always suspected that the prime function of GWS and GCS is to give talented players somewhere to play and develop their craft/talent before they go to a proper club. A place for good players to go to instead of playing soccer or basketball. They are like a warehouse or a shopfront for talent to develop in.

Sure they will both make finals from time to time and may even win a flag eventually but the culture will never be the same as other expansion clubs like Freo, West Coast, Port or the Crows.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Nice analogy Twodogs. Hope GC win premiership before GWS. And if GWS do win one hope it is after Toby finishes up.

Freo are up and about great timing.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

If we win the next two, we've certainly deserved to make the 8.

Have to be impressed with Freo, Longmuir looks like a calm and measured coach. They look well drilled, going to to a big challenge next week since they have been in Cairns for a few weeks already.

They've been holding their own against better mobs than Norf.

I doubt we'll take them lightly given the stakes but if we're not fully focused they're more than capable of ruining our day, and season for that matter.

With hogan back in, it gives their fwd line a more potent look. Taberner, hogan, Walters, and Fyfe up there will be a handful.

Freo are a good side with a forward mix that will really stretch us. Longmuir has done a fantastic job clearing out the malaise that RTB let set in.

Kennedy, Darling, Ryan are a decent bunch. We just have to control the midfield and stop the ball getting to the freo forwards like we did against WC and we'll be right

Man the Essendon fitness team have worked wonders that we couldn't. (Apologies if you're eating dinner).

Notice GWS captain for tonight is that doyen of human decency, who is continually defended by media commentators.
