Re: WB Game Day V Geelong R14 2020
Is team game and we win as a team and lose as a t...arr bugger it Bruce and JJ (2nd time this season) cost us this one. Every game has key moments and Geelong took theirs, and we had Bruce and JJ with the ball.

Not by choice, Geelong shut us down.
We can't turn it into a tough contest unless we actually play a ruck in the ruck.
English might be a decent high forward (which is the role he played), but Dunkley isn't a ruckman. It's not conceding clearances that is a problem, it's just that we concede clean clearances at times without a ruck

Excatly. Libba was stuffed in the second half, Hunter was stuffed by the last.

Absolutely it was, and it was only an exacerbation of being a man down for most of the game. You could see our players running in sand as the game wore on.
However, it doesn't excuse the way we played in the second quarter. We couldn't soak up the pressure and our handling skills really suffered.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

So play a 1 dimensional player and expect the ball come in like training. It was a very ordinary selection. Didn't cost us the game but certainly didn't help

Oh and seeing as I'm on the Geelong love train I wish we'd pick up Rohan when he was available.

My god how frustrating
We’re not a million miles off
Best players didn’t fire a shot tonight
You could see the tide turning after 1/4 time

No decent ruckman just added to the woes

Oh and his stand out performance in Grand finals is second to none, oh wait he has never played in one and unlike Bont's who is stiff not to have a Norm Smith.

The gap between 8th and first is big.
Would they beat Tigers? I think they're clearly the best still. As we saw early you bring the heat Geelong fold. I was impressed with Scott's coaching though.

Is English even decent up forward? Very slow & top heavy with him down there with Bruce & Naughton as talls and Wally & Dickson who play tall (slow, not mobile).
Really strange tactics, especially when Geelong were getting a huge advantage around the ball with their ruck domination.

2016 was great, but who wants to live 4 years in the past?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

What I am saying is the forwards didn't get the opportunities, doesn't matter who played as a small forward.
We lost this around the ground. They beat us in Clearnaces, stoppages, Cont Poss. Libba and Bont only had 15 touches each, Dunkley wasted in the ruck with only 13 touches.
