There was talk a few days ago that they would take a pick in the 20s if someone was willing to take enough of his salary. I guess that's what we would need to weigh up - how much can we afford in the salary cap, to optimise the cost of the trade. i.e. if they would take pick 25 for us to have 80% of his salary, is that a better result than giving pick 7 and only paying 60% (very hypothetical numbers).

There is definitely a feeling that getting rid of that salary is more important than a high pick in return for the Pies. If they can't find a suitor by mid week they may start to panic.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Paul Connors confirms our story Higgins wants a trade. Saints offering future second round pick. But won’t offer any more. So not sure where that leaves the deal.

Re: 2020 Player movement
Credit to Saints. They have transformed their list in 12 months. Will it work? Who knows, but I like their aggressive approach after some failed drafting years.
I'd like us to be much more aggressive. Hell, the one time we were, it delivered us a flag.

Re: 2020 Player movement
So Higgins’ reasons were more playing opportunity. Would have thought we’d be able to give him the most. Perhaps $$$ we’re too high for our liking?

I hate the Saints, but agree TBB they have certainly been positive and on the front foot the last two trade periods.

Or the awkwardness with his Mrs' comments during finals about the Dogs players making too much noise in the hub hotel?

or we aren't interested. He did say he wanted midfield time.

This. He's not getting time in our midfield, if any.
