2016 Grand Final week memories - 4 years on

What a great week it was. Was so excited that we were in a Grand final after so many years.

I did it all went to the GF training session at Whitten Oval Thursday morning, did the GF parade on Friday, went to the GF on Saturday at the MCG with nearly 100k people in the stands it was amazing and saw the premiership win and went to the Whitten Oval the next day to celebrate the premiership with 30,000 Dogs fans and got photos with the cup at both the Whitten Oval the day after and the East West day the next year. Would be great to do it all again in the future

Was one of the best and most anxious weeks of my life. Didn't know if wed get tickets for 3 days and lived in a perpetual state of bliss once we did land them.

One thing is for certain, I got zero work done that week!

In hindsight, everything about it was amazing.

Open training, the GF parade, grand final day as an experience and of course the game itself.

    I want another one now...

A very dear and great mate of mine knocked on my door on the Wednesday and handed me a ticket! One of the few times in my life I have been speechless.
Have you been reading those Roddy Doyle books again, Dougal!?

When the siren went in the GF I was like “is this real”. Indeed it was.

I still look back on that whole month, but particularly that last week as a dream. I still can’t get through the grand final without crying. The emotions are still just too much.
