There's many ways to derail a thread Jee.

    Wanna argue about it?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Especially when we get the best tall in the draft through a similar mechanism.

Isn't it wonderful, when the industry as a whole make a real fuss about something when we have had the advantage.

Then they get what they want and find it actually penalises them. Beautiful.

The Swans and Giants were reaping the benefits of their academies for years, as soon as we get some advantage.

    Gone.

    Father son is under threat!

Wouldn't surprise me if they made the same change. Has to be outside top 20.

If we finish top of the ladder AND get Darcy within pick 3, expect them to make changes. I'd be more surprised if they didn't.

They could keep the Father/Son Rule but adjust the discount, down from the current 20% down to 10%. Or maybe no discount in the Top 10, 10% Picks 11-20, 20% Picks 21-40 and then ‘next pick’ from 41+ (raising the free hit from Pick 52 into Pick 41 to give back a bit and fringe kids a little more likely).

But from next year onwards of course. But keeps the romance if clubs are prepared to pay a bit more.

The NGA is getting real messy. Rules for some and different rules for others. No real incentive for Vic clubs to pursue any kids and put time into them for other clubs to snap them up.

His burst speed on the lead can only be stopped Usain Bolt. Maybe.

Honestly, my heart bleeds with sympathy that Melbourne won’t get a free kick in this years draft. Perhaps it’s time they had another priority pick to compensate?
