State of Origin Musings
At the season's midway mark and in keeping with the commemoration of Ted's passing, perhaps the concept's fiercest ambassador, some hypothetical State of Origin squads, courtesy of the players themselves:

Our skipper the lone Bulldog to earn a guernsey albeit; "Bob Murphy might get the captaincy given how well he’s led the Doggies so far in 2015."
Hard to see the concept ever being anything more than a romantic relic, sadly, but still taps into the fantasy football boffin in me more than it should.
Discuss.

Re: State of Origin Musings
VIC vs WA would be a cracker.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Re: State of Origin Musings
The SA side is decidedly weak, albeit I think they've left out quite a few who'd feature in my side.

How good is WA's forward line?

Off the top of my head I'd be bolstering the backline with Jonas and/Homsch from Port. Rivers has been solid for Geelong, with Davis and Patfull from GWS chances. Whilst he getting on maybe hasn't had his best year but Lake would be in the conversation too.
Hamish Hartlett is pretty unlucky to not get a spot, and despite a poor year, Griffen would be in the mix. Redden from Brisbane, and Polec pre-injury have claims.
Rhys Stanley is another who I'd have in the discussion.

Tassie have produced one or two of merit. What about the fabulous Trent Bartlett. Was better suited as a ruckman but was born 20 years too late for his height.
The only one currently that comes to mind is Tom Bellchambers.

How does Wood miss out being in a team?

And how in the Blue Hell does Jeremy Howe get a start in a State of Origin team?

The smaller states (ie Allies) will certainly have lesser credentialled players.
When they last played State of Origin with a full Tasmanian side they defeated a Victorian team and utilised players from the local state league and players who were struggling to get a game in their AFL sides.
