I think he's done his best for this club and I don't mind him.
Wish him the best and curmudgeons too bad. He's mainstream, a bit of a twit at times but seems genuinely himself and has represented the game as best he could.
Collingwood and the bulldogs are very close internally , Eddie got us the mission sponsorship i am pretty sure, we are both blue collar clubs and have looked after each other a lot over many years.
That might hurt to read for some but the fact is what you see as a supporter are sometimes the opposite in reality.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Mission sponsorship but he did go into bat for us many years ago when we were struggling to find a sponsor. He said on the Footy Show that any business who committed to be our our jumper sponsor would get some extra exposure/publicity on TFS. From memory it was an organisation called The Money Shop who took the spot. It was after we split with Vodafone I reckon.
Have you been reading those Roddy Doyle books again, Dougal!?

This is not the Eddie McGuire that I know who has done wonders for people living on the margins. Through his efforts Collingwood has financed 30 homes in conjunction with the Salvos for the homeless.
When the AFL looks for Clubs input the two they invariably turn to are PG and McGuire both outstanding servants of our great game

No, in 2020 you are either good or evil. There is no place for nuance in modern society.

Pies really are copping a battering at the moment. They announced a $1.8 million loss for 2020 yesterday (which actually isn’t a bad result considering their revenue dropped $25 million.

The lack of crowd revenue hit them particularly hard and again raises the question around the unfair spread of prime time and marquee games.

Who would have thunk that the AFL were just shafting us all of these years so that we would be the most financially resilient in a pandemic year?

Been a big part of the Pies for many years but as time goes you need someone fresh in the club as we are doing.

Given that there's a 24mth member requirement, guessing she won't be kept on the board, or at least will lose voting rights on the board.

    Spot on:

Collingwood has been forced to temporarily remove a new board member’s voting rights, as she is technically ineligible for the position until the club’s Annual General Meeting.

Dr Bridie O’Donnell became a director of the Magpies on Tuesday, despite only joining as a member in February 2020.

Not related to the Collingwood leadership........yet:
