I struggle to believe that Naughton and Bruce have ever trained together.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Everything relating to our forward line just seems a shambles and has been so for yonks. No cohesion, poor entries, poor set shot kicking, poor roving of contests, lack of defensive pressure. These things aren't really that complicated.

I don't mind what I am seeing so far. Its a bit scrappy, but it's also pre-season. The intensity is most certainly there. I'm holding judgement right now ... waiting (hoping) the game breaks open soon.

I mean sure, we've looked by far the better team and should be dominating (they have a lot of quality out). But we've seen games like this in the past over and over. I want to see us start putting that dominance on the scoreboard.

Our membership team is performing better than our forward line and forward entries.

Melbourne is missing a couple of first choice midfielders.

Anyone able to shed some light on our ruck situation? Is Martin or English contesting more hitouts?

I see Gawn is once again dominating the hitouts but we're smashing them in clearances so wondering if we're simply better sharking the taps or Stef and/or Timmy are doing a better job at contesting the ruck thus still giving our mids a chance even without getting the tap.

I was hoping 2021 Bruce would be an upgrade.

He's still got the 2nd half to prove he is making progress. I'm not impressed by his efforts so far but it's early days

Some things never change. Dominate possession. Dominate i50s. Miss easy chances. Forward line looks dysfunctional. Pressure drops for for five minutes and the opposition opens us up like a can of sardines and scores easy multiple goals. DéjÃ* vu.
