At the game. Pies playing super defensive and getting plenty of players behind the ball. We have coughed some goals when they have created space from a turnover. It will be interesting if they can continue to defend and get numbers back as the game progresses. Going to be a fascinating second half.

Apart from his initial pass to set up I think Bruce for a goal, he's been really subdued. I really wanted to see him assert his presence.\
Smith has been brilliant. Hunter has done Hunter things, great gut running... combined with some iffy disposal

Smith close to BOG, Hunter started to get into it but need more from him. Treloar has been OK for his first game.
I wonder if we'll move Hunter into the midfield when others start to tire... Could be a difference maker.

Vandermeer reminds me of that great Aussie fighter Jeff "Hitman" Harding. We should be 4 goals up at least. We are showing lots of endeavour but need to be smarter up forward ... again!

Re: WB Game Day V Collingwood R1 2021
Can someone explain to why, in every single game of ours, we have a crowded forward line yet the opposition has a paddock? Is this due more to our setup or the opposition knowing we always cough it up? It’s really frustrating seeing it over and over. I don’t see this in neutral games.

Yeah it's Treloar's first hit out with the senior side, so he was always going to take a bit of time to adjust to us and we to him.
Smith is having a cracker, while Lach just needs to keep it simple and take first options.

We press hard and teams know they can stifle our forwards with congestion.
Not having a really clever small forward or two doesn't help as we don't put enough pressure on the defenders carrying or moving the ball out, and nobody kicks the goals from getting it on the boot quickly.

Bruce, you’re playing AFL. You have to at least score.

See what happens when you nail a pass inside forward 50 to a leading forward?
