Re: WB Game Day V West Coast Eagles R2 2021

Just watched the replay and honestly couldn’t be more impressed. The eagles were on yesterday and all of their key positions were firing - NicNat, JK, Darling, Allen, Barrass, McGovern - and not only did we manage to beat them, we closed a 2 goal lead in the last quarter and stemmed their form.

Bont the match winner for me with the display he turned back on in the final quarter - god I love watching him glide across the Serengeti like a gazelle.

We got a first hand view of the impact Stef Martin is making - directly and indirectly. We managed to stem the tide despite NicNat being in AA form for a period there. Without him we most certainly wouldn’t have contained the centre balls.

Couple of poor performances from senior players and some outstanding games from our kids. Special shout out to Vandermeer who is well and truly a fan favourite, Baz, Williams, Dale and Naughton - all outstanding.

I thought the 8 day break was a gift in such a tight game, we looked like we had more run in the back half of that last quarter.

One thing I was disappointed in was the 3rd quarter where WC kicked 6 goals with two of those coming in the last 2 minutes of the quarter. Until that point the scores were locked, but somehow we allowed two easy goals.

I thought a few of you might be able to sympathise with this @ yesterday's game:

Was hovering around 161 during the last 5 mins!

This is the thing that the pompous types who decry football as an entertainment will just never understand.

Could you imagine: "I saw 'Swan Lake' last night at the Opera House. And during the 'Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy' my pulse soared to 160 bpm!"

That will NEVER happen - unless there's a bomb scare.

The Nutcracker. And I dunno, that celesta kicks arse!

And you've never seen Cosmic Psychos on a good night? I always say there are two sublime moments in life one is when the umpire holds the ball up and the timekeeper responds by blowing the siren and the other is when (was when, he's not in the band anymore) Dirty was tuning up his guitar before a gig before a Psychos gig.
