I'm going to drive down to Geelong at half time, order a Rippa Roast from across the road from XYZ Stadium and then, when everyone piles out of the ground I might followed them to the Barwon Club for a pint before driving home.

I'll probably use the bathroom while I'm there too.

The only way it makes sense is because the number is restricted to 7000 (not sure how they got that number) and that will fill quickly any how, so fewer members don't miss out.

Following that logic if the crowd was capped to say 10,000 at Marvel only metro members could attend?

I believe that 7,000 is about 20% of the stadium capacity.

The same number of members miss out regardless.

I say that because we are coming out of restrictions? I can't think of any other reasons.

What do restrictions have to do with it? They are the same in Geelong as they are in Mildura and Ballarat and Bendigo and Traralgon (I think you get where I'm going).

    Re: Ticketing for 2021

I'll be driving to Geelong from Ballarat to watch it at a pub with hundreds of others which is fine, but I don't get access to a seat in the ground, yet someone who lives in Apollo Bay has to travel further than me, yet has a chance of a ticket. Insane.

Would that be roughly 25% capacity?

Ticketing Tips | Eligible member access for Friday night

With a reduced capacity crowd confirmed, Bulldogs members in the Geelong Region will be able to purchase tickets to Friday night’s clash against the Cats at GMHBA Stadium.

The Club has been informed by the AFL and State Government that a crowd of 7000 patrons will be permitted at Friday night’s match between the Western Bulldogs and Geelong at GMHBA Stadium. This is conditional on the following restrictions:

    · Patrons must be a Geelong Cats, Western Bulldogs or AFL member.

    · No patrons from outside the Geelong region.

Western Bulldogs members residing in an eligible local government area within the Geelong Region, will be able to purchase tickets from a limited allocation in Thursday’s (17 June) away club member on-sale, commencing at 3pm.

Only Western Bulldogs members residing in the local government areas of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway, Queenscliff, Surf Coast and Golden Plains Shire are eligible to purchases tickets.

Unfortunately, Western Bulldogs members residing outside of these local government areas will not be able to purchase tickets for Friday night’s match.

Eligible members will have access to a limited allocation of tickets using a password and Ticketmaster direct link that will be sent by email on Thursday morning, along with essential on-sale information. Eligible members that have a mobile number registered with the Club, will also receive a reminder SMS message on Thursday ahead of the on-sale commencing at 3pm.

Members will be charged a booking fee of $2.85 upon purchase of tickets. There will be a limit of six (6) tickets per transaction.

As part of an enhanced effort to support contract tracing, a name and mobile number must be supplied for every ticket that is purchased. For juniors and dependents without a mobile phone, a parent or guardian may supply their number instead.

Tickets will be for a designated section of the Hickey Stand, and will cost $70 per adult, $60 for concessions, and $25 for juniors.

For eligible members seeking Accessible Seating, please contact Ticketmaster’s Accessible Seating Line if you have wheelchair, companion card or special needs booking requirements.
Ticketmaster’s Accessible Seating hotline is 1300 446 925 or you can email your requests to accessibletickets@ticketmaster.com.au. Please ensure you include the event name, venue, date and time along with your contact details.

If I am reading my email right, we only have access to a $70 ticket?

I wish that stadium would burn to the ground.
