I've heard he's out because he's too unusually pleasant.

Martin really does come off as that guy who never gets angry / always happy.

Well, this would be a case of swapping like for like if Jordon lives up to his name.

Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 5 Vs Gold Coast 2021

I saw a post on FB that mentioned that Sweet led them out at the open training session.

Ps It’s a crazy possibility that Sweet could go close to best on (but against a team without a ruckman) and then be left out against GWS.

Article on Dogs website confirming Crozier is set to return. No mention of Sweet.

I assume that means Daniel out (sus) Martin (rested) for Sweet and Crozier.
I'm keen to see West get his opportunity soon and hope Cav gets another crack at it.

Pretty happy for Sweet to come in for this exact game. Excited to see what he can produce at the top level, particularly around the ground.

Looks like Bevo is a convert to the 3 tall forward structure which is pretty incredible after the last few years.

Ruckman Jordon Sweet will make his AFL debut for the Western Bulldogs on Saturday.

The 23-year-old will take on the Gold Coast Suns at Marvel Stadium.

He becomes the third Bulldog to debut at AFL level in 2021, following in the footsteps of fellow rookies Anthony Scott and Lachie McNeil.

Sweet is in his third season at the Kennel.

He joined the Bulldogs with pick 23 in the 2018 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, on the back of a premiership-winning season with North Adelaide in the SANFL.

Sweet was a strong performer at VFL level in his first year as a Bulldog in 2019, playing 17 games.

That included a string of four games where he collected a whopping 205 hit-outs, against Sandringham (51), Casey Demons (55), Richmond (39) and Port Melbourne (60).

He earned an opportunity in the Marsh Community Series against North Melbourne at the start of 2020, but had to continue to bide his time at scratch match level in the Gold Coast hub throughout the year as Tim English established himself in the ruck role.

Sweet has started 2021 strongly in the lead ruck role in VFL scratch matches and has also pushed forward to hit the scoreboard, including a three-goal haul against Essendon.

I would love West in as he needs to be given a chance to hold down a spot in the side. I also think it’s time to see JUH. Was told he hadn’t yet got the tank to run out a game. It will not matter against GCS and it will set the media and support base on fire.

Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 5 Vs Gold Coast 2021

Having watched the open training session this morning (with binoculars on player activity), I am going to go out on a limb and suggest Naughton may also be an 'out' for this week.

Stef Martin only joined in about 30% of the Captains run, whereas Naughty would have been active in just 20% of the activities....just an observation. Would be interested if anyone else who attended this morning noticed Naughton not being as active as others.
Anyone can support a team that is winning, it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage, so lets always be behind our boys and girls in red, white and blue.
