Is it the Darren Gaspar rule, ie: save your best form the the final year of your current contract?

Before 2021, wasn't that known as the Bailey Dale rule?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Prior to that it was the ‘Liam Jones Rule’.

Come the end of round 8 we should have a clearer understanding of where we are at.

Melbourne, Port and Geelong are seriously in contention along with us and you would have to expect Richmond and Brisbane will rally and be in the mix. Swans are performing better than most would have expected and West Coast remain a bit of a mystery.
GWS and the Saints are probably the best of the rest.

It's got the makings of a great finals series.

Come round 14, it could be a possibility that 4-5 of those teams you mention are above us on the ladder.

Maybe if he was out of contract.

I personally can't think of anything that would lead to this kind of drastic and immediate performance enhancement. Must be something he read.

And to think Jack used to run away from the media....now he is one of them.

I noticed the commentary team talking about his wish to prove something to the footy world, in lieu of nobody being interested in picking him up at the end of last season or something similar.........and thought of his sympathies as a possible reason they didn't.
