    Louis Butler Med Sub

Looking at the ins and outs, I think we are much stronger this time. Garcia didn't get much game time and was subbed out.

    For Melbourne:

    Out IN:
    Jake Melksham J Viney
    Sam Weideman B Brown
    Tom Sparrow Med Sub

Are Melbourne stronger? I don't believe so.
I’d say Melb are stronger. Many on here don’t rate Brown, but if on song he could pluck everything in sight. We might just play him into form it the rain holds. Viney is battering ram stuff, and while in and under, allows Oliver and Petracca to play their natural roles.

We are stronger on paper certainly, but Hannan, Schache and JUH could easily not touch the ball tonight.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Brown hasn't played a decent game in two years

Melbourne are just as strong as last time, we're slightly stronger.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Not sure about us being stronger, but we should be better prepared this time. Forewarned is forearmed. Go 'Dogs.

I saw what you did there, did you?

Melbourne are stronger because there Ins COULD have good games, and we are weaker because our Ins COULD have bad games.

    I propose the counter position.

Let’s settle for the Ins make no significant difference to the strength of either side

It’s not just the ins, is it, it’s overall team balance. We will soon find out.

    In Bevo we…are perennially puzzled.

Something about this match is filling me with foreboding. Not in great form, signs of fatigue, playing a top of the table match at the G with no crowd, several of our best unavailable, selection mysteries, and a match where we need to confirm we are in that same bracket as Melb and Geelong. Gee what could go wrong…

Geez it’s good reading back over the comments in this thread from when the team selection dropped to the final siren of an epic win.
