Agree with this completely. Roarke is really important - and Brisbane have important wingers, of which we make our choice on which one we want to quell the influence of by sending Roarke to them.

Will be interesting to see if we send Dunks to anyone....likely we don't to start with, but do it if someone is getting out of hand. Dunkley probably needs to be playing 'on' someone right now.

Rich is their go to man every time, shutting him down would go a long way towards winning.

Who has the speed to go with Cameron? Wood? He did a decent job on AMT a month ago.

Scott played on Rich the last time in Ballarat and Rich had no impact.

Dunkley to tag him, hurt him and also push forward to offer another target?

Cameron Wood isn't that quick is he? Also he is pretty old these days.

In all seriousness either Duyrea or Wood for mine.

I definitely felt we were still really vulnerable in centre clearance up until the game was all one way traffic in the last and we really padded our numbers then. Young battled manfully, but if we are honest with ourselves, Draper was very influential in the first half and we were having to start by defending every time. Judging by the post game presser - nothing is going to change in that regard. It definitely goes up a cog next week with Brisbane's midfield - so it remains our biggest area of concern. Our defenders will have to have a ludicrously good month if we were to get to a Grand Final.
I thought we were splitting a lot of the ruck contests pretty well but that Draper was having a huge effect at ground level, very Ben Hudson like. He definitely had much less effect in the 2nd half though.
I’m ok with keeping the same set-up although McInerney provides a different challenge.
As far as changes, I’d consider JJ for VDM, but think everyone else is safe. Again I’d like to fit Ed in if fit, but think he’s competing for Roarke’s spot and Roarke is playing his role.

Duryea is the obvious choice for me. The key will be slowing down their ball movement and trying not to let him get the ball out over the back, because in a pure foot race he'll have Duryea on toast.

Not having seen last year, but can JJ defend at all?

A swap if JJ for VDM gives the option to put JJ on Cameron with the leg speed, if it doesn’t work then JJ back forward.

I've always thought JJ was a capable defender but him on Cameron is asking for it.

Wood smashed Cameron earlier this year in that game that didn't count and should get first crack.

I think he is fine as a defender but realistically he is no longer part of that rotation for whatever reason (with Dale, Williams, Duryea, Wood, Crozier all likely ahead of him, at a minimum), and what we would gain in speed we lose in Duryea's ability to nullify a 1v1.

I think if we are going to go deep then Martin has to play. We will be cut up by ruckman over the next 3 weeks if not. Young unfortunately will have to miss.

Last time we played Brisbane, Martin was even in the rucks with McInerney

McInerney has had an awesome back 9 to the year and is a dangerous matchup for us. He’s kind of like a blue collar English - mobile, great overhead and dangerous up forward, only he can actually ruck, and he’s definitely a better player than Draper (round 21 notwithstanding). He should be very much a cause for concern.
